In Learning to Love, Thomas Merton writes:  
Value of time is not in time but in clarity of thought:
 moments when we see through time and everything else
and see our way “through” everything.”

Consider your normal week.  List how you use your time.  How much for work?  How much for self?  How much for others?  How much for God?

Find time in your day to sit quietly and pray this prayer:
Father in heaven,
the day draws near when the glory of you Son
will make radiant the night of the waiting world.
May the lure of greed not impede us from the joy
which moves the hearts of those who seek him.
May the darkness not blind us to the visions of wisdom
which fills the minds of those who find him.

Practice lectio divina using:
I don’t know what will happen now.  We’ve got some difficult days ahead.  But it really doesn’t matter with me now, because I’ve been to the mountaintop.  And I don’t mind.  Like anybody, I would like to have a long life; longevity has its place.  But I’m not concerned about that now.  I just want to do God’s will.  And he’s allowed me to go up to the mountain.  And I’ve looked over.  And I’ve seen the promised land.  I may not get there with you.  But I want you to know tonight that we as a people will get to the promised land.  And I’m happy tonight, I’m not worried about anything.  I’m not fearing any man.  Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord.
