Book Annotation — St. Cuthbert, His Cult and His Community to A.D. 1200

This book is a festschrift (a collection of essays written by scholars in honor of other scholars - typical at retirement or death). As such it is a scholarly collection and the essays are of varying use to the average pilgrim. However, I would not want to discourage you from perusing this. There are fine essays within. I found the following Essays particularly useful to me: Cuthbert and the Polarity between Pastor and Solitary; The Spirituality of Cuthbert; Lindisfarne and the Origins of the Cult of St. Cuthbert.
